Robin Class

Robin class is a class of six children ranging from 3 to 6 years of age (Nursery to Year 1) who experience profound and multiple learning difficulties. The staff team work in close contact with other professionals on site, i.e. physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists ad the school nurse. We also have regular visits from the Visual impairment team. We work together in a holistic way with the aim of supporting the children to be as independent as possible.

All of the children use a wheelchair so there is a large emphasis on the physical side of the children’s development. We have a daily floor programme which includes stretches and sensory work. We follow a topic-based, multi-sensory curriculum that includes lots of play-based activites and FUN for some of the youngest children in the school! Each week we go to Rebound therapy at Stocklake Park School. The children are also busy outside of the classroom in the outdoor area and by visiting the school library, ICT suite, swimming pool, soft play, dark room, the sensory theatre and the hall for PE.
