Swan Class
Swan class currently has seven children who are in Year 4, 5 and 6. The children follow an individual personalised learning plan with targets set and lessons planned in conjunction with the speech and language therapist and occupational therapist. The children in the class have complex needs. Many have a diagnosis of ASD in addition to their significant learning difficulties. All the children have sensory processing difficulties and the curriculum is planned and delivered through a holistic approach in order to meet these needs as a pre-requisite to learning.
Learning objectives are met through a mixture of individual small group and whole class sessions. Examples of sessions include communication groups, art, sensory stories, sensabout, music and a variety of gross motor and fine motor skills.
