Wren Class
Wren class is a sensory group with profound multiple learning difficulties. We have eight pupils, mostly wheelchair users. We are supported by speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists and a school nurse.
We follow a topic based, multi-sensory curriculum, and aim to work as holistically as possible incorporating cognitive, physical, emotional and social development. Each week we experience learning outside the classroom at school, for swimming, library, P.E in the hall, ICT and a sensory story in the sensory theatre. We also have a darkroom for visual impairment work within the classroom. We go offsite for rebound therapy and trips out. Trips are organised to visit local areas of interest and to enjoy social interaction with peers outside of school.
All children are encouraged to be as active and independent as possible at all times.
